features are not just token embellishments for developer City Developments Limited (CDL), but are key elements in the properties they undertake.

Since the launch of the Green Mark scheme in 2005, CDL has had a total of 26 residential, commercial and industrial projects — including nine certified yesterday — accredited. It’s the most platinum and gold-plus awards ever conferred a developer.

In recognition of their efforts, the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) honoured CDL as the inaugural BCA Green Mark Champion — recognizing developers and building owners that have at least 10 projects rated Green Mark gold or higher and three gold-plus and three platinum awards.

Those who have raked at least 50 projects rated Green Mark gold and higher, as well as 15 gold-plus and 15 platinum awards will take on the title of Platinum Champion.

Mr Kwek Leng Joo, managing director of CDL, said: “We believe that building with environmental sustainability in mind brings benefits to the developer, residents, the community and most importantly, the environment,” he said.
